Felicia L. Kenny is a children’s author, special education teacher, and literacy advocate from New Jersey. She loves writing stories that help children feel seen, understood, and accepted. Her books are inspired by real life and written in simple language that young readers can easily enjoy.
Through stories like Two Worlds: One Family and I Am Me, Felicia encourages children to celebrate who they are while learning to appreciate others. Her work explores topics such as identity, diversity, belonging, and kindness in a way that feels natural and easy for children to understand.
Along with writing, Felicia enjoys sharing her love of books with students and families. She believes every child deserves stories that reflect real experiences, build confidence, and remind them they have a place in the world.
“Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and accepted. My hope is that when children read my books, they not only enjoy the story but also discover something about themselves and the people around them. If even one child finishes a book feeling proud of who they are or a little more understanding of someone else, then I’ve done what I set out to do.”
Felicia is continuing to write new children’s books that celebrate kindness, imagination, and the many ways families and children experience the world. Alongside stories about identity and belonging, she is also exploring new adventures that will bring fun, creativity, and meaningful lessons to young readers.
